Richard Golding

About Us and Our Work

At the age of 16, Richard lived in Montreal where he found ways to make some spending money. He reclaimed old window sash from the Quebec countryside near where he lived.

An old friend, taught him the art of refinishing old windows. Thirty-five years later, you can still find Richard's mentor, set up on the most successful Finnegan's Country Market, just off the Island of Montreal.

Hearing the phrase, 'Go West Young Man' led to Richard leaving Montreal and moving to British Columbia, where he has been ever since.

Richard spends days and nights working on his designs and finishes each piece himself. He stands by his work and takes great pride in his fine workmanship.

Richard lives in the flag East Kootenays. He has his workshop in an area of Trail, British Columbia that is full of culture and history. It is called by many, 'The Gulch'.
